7.11.2011: What To Watch – ‘Syfy’ TV Edition

The summer season will officially begin on Syfy tonight (Monday July 11th) with a triple sci-fi premiere of returning shows, Eureka and Warehouse 13, and the debut of Alphas.

Eureka: Season 4 Episode 1 “Liftoff” (8/7c)  Starring Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Joe Morton, Erica Cerra, Neil Grayston, Niall Matter and James Callis.

Episode Synopsis:  Carter (Ferguson) lands in an awkward situation after S.A.R.A.H. and Andy’s nuptials hit a snag; Zane (Matter) keeps harassing Jo (Cerra) for details; an unscheduled launch presents trouble for the gang.  60 min

Warehouse 13: Season 3 Episode 1 “The New Guy” (9/8c)  Starring Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, Allison Scagliotti, CCH Pounder and Genelle Williams.

Episode Synopsis:  A rock legend’s guitar becomes a menace in Jersey City, N.J., and Artie (Rubinek) and Claudia (Scagliotti) run into an ATF agent who has a knack for knowing when people are lying.  60 min

Alphas: Season 1 Episode 1 “Pilot” (10/9c)  Starring David Strathairn, Malik Yoba, Warren Christie, Laura Mennell, Ryan Cartwright and Azita Ghanizada.  Created by Michael Karnow and Zak Penn.

In the action-packed thriller series, five ordinary people are brought together to form one extraordinary team of Alphas – people with the unique power to stretch the capabilities of the human mind giving them superhuman physical and mental abilities.  Operating within the Defense Criminal Investigation Service of the U.S. Department of Defense and led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Strathairn), an expert in Alpha phenomena, the team investigates cases that point to others with Alpha abilities.  As they work against the clock to solve this new brand of crime, they must prevent their own personality differences and disparate backgrounds from interfering with their ultimate mission to catch the enemy.   courtesy of Syfy
