Posted in Comic, Comic News, Previews on 06/04/2011 by sharonwong

We would like to welcome Sea Lion Books to the Horror Haven family and our fans.  Our first stop begins with Pariah, a graphic novel series from Aron Warner, Brett Weldele and Philip Gelatt.

Atlanta, GA – June 01, 2011 They’re not super powered, they’re just super smart. The teen protagonists who lead us through the world of Pariah, a twelve-book graphic novel series from the mind of Oscar-winning film producer Aron Warner and published by Sea Lion Books, are the next generation of heroes in the comic book world. Eisner-nominated illustrator Brett Weldele (The Surrogates) will bring the stories to life in ink, and Philip Gelatt will pen the scripts set in Warner’s world for the twelve books. As buzz builds about this unlikely collaboration and the unique story of Pariah, the series will premiere at San Diego Comic Con on July 20 – 24th. Continue reading

Planet of the Apes Issue #1

Written by Daryl Gregory and Drawn by Carlos Magno

Insert your best gratuitous “get your stinking hands off me” joke here.  OK, all joking aside, Planet of the Apes Issue #1 is a fun prequel to the original movie series without getting in the way of itself by trying to respecting story continuity.  The comic fits relatively nicely before the first film, Planet of the Apes (1968), by shedding light on human/ape relations.
